A Special Day

On Sunday, a friend of Naomi's who had moved out of town was coming for a visit. They had arranged that they would go roller-skating for the afternoon. Fiona, never having been roller or ice skating, was given the option of coming along or staying home to have a "special day" with daddy. She chose to stay home, further showing that my genetics are in there in a big way! It was a lot of fun spending the time with her one-on-one. As to what a 3 year old considers a special day? Dancing to AC/DC music; lunch at pizza hut; playing with her Disney figurines (I was assigned the princesses to play with while she played with the fairies) and finally, a trip to the park. A good day was had by all.

Other spare time on the weekend was spent clearing a space for our planned vegetable garden. Mindy and I have really no idea what we are doing but I guess we will learn from our mistakes, of which there are bound to be more than a few.

Movie watching over the weekend - a trip down memory lane to watch "The Great Escape". It occurred to me that this is probably the movie I have watched more than any other over my life...MANY days of my childhood were spent on the couch watching this one. Great stuff!
